  • Location: Hybrid, candidates must be able to commute to Central Florida for in-person client meetings & presentations.

    • Preference for Central Florida candidates.

    • Due to the nature of our projects, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    • A candidate must complete a background check for employment purposes and an I-9 verification to confirm their identity and work authorization in the United States.

  • Type: Salaried.

  • Experience Level: A preference for Intermediate (II) or Mid-level (III) but, we encourage all experience levels apply.

  • Start Date: ASAP.

  • Pay Range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead and coordinate a defense XR training project involving Unreal Engine 5, geo-spatial data, terrains, and 3D asset pipelines. This role requires a proactive and innovative individual who can bridge multiple partners in our defense consortium together to realize a next generation training product for the defense industry.

You are:

A proactive, detail oriented individual who is comfortable with deep technical documentation. You will be working with our team to build out our asset pipeline, plan & run Jira sprints, understand technical requirements from our defense partners, and ensure high fidelity in our 3D assets and terrains.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met on time.

  • Facilitate hybrid team collaboration, including regular virtual meetings and in-person sync-ups in Central Florida.

  • Ingest, review and annotate technical documentation from our defense partners & client to ensure the team recreates high quality, accurate, training scenarios.

  • Work with your Technical Art Lead to set milestones, goals and package deliverables.

  • Manage Jira sprints, tickets, retros and planning with our internal and external team.

  • Travel will be required. Plan for approximately 3 out-of-state trips for client engagements and project presentations as required. Travel will be covered by Theory Studios.

  • Maintain documentation and report progress to stakeholders regularly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Candidates in Central Florida/Orlando or able to commute to Orlando is required. Currently, we are not providing any relocation costs.

  • Jira knowledge and experience are a requirement.

  • Due to the nature of this project, you must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage hybrid and remote teams.

  • Able to travel approximately 3 times out of state for client visits, and in-state for rehearsals and client meetings.

  • A leader who understands the careful balance of shipping a product, and motivating your team.

Bonus:

  • Knowledge of Blender, Maya, Max, or other 3D asset software a big plus.

  • Knowledge of and experience in Unreal Engine and its application in interactive projects or simulation training a plus.

  • Previous experience in similar contract roles within the interactive media or simulation training sectors.

  • Understanding of Agile or similar project management methodologies.

Work Environment:

  • While we are hybrid, involving in-person meetups and client presentations, the rest of the time we are a work from home studio.

  • Our team hours and work:

    • To stay aligned with our clients and partners, we ask that team members maintain overlap with our core hours: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.

    • Outside of that window, there’s flexibility in how the remaining hours are scheduled, whether earlier or later in the day, or to better align with a specific project, and schedule their breaks around meetings. Fridays are generally meeting-free, though occasional exceptions may arise around key deliverables.
